Greetings Everyone,
It is a cold morning with the windchill around 10 degrees. I thought the last couple weeks of worship have been wonderful… with the choir presentation of Canticle of Christmas… and the Lord’s Supper yesterday.
The day was especially nice having Rick Miller back from Iraq. Many of you have been his prayer partner throughout his deployment and have given him much encouragement throughout the year.
Rick and I have had many times of one on one time that makes for a closer relationship than might happen with others. He and I have been up at 5:00am to play raquetball (by the way he beat me everytime), we have put in a few miles around the lake and all the while bouncing things off each others heart. Through those times you get to know someone in a deeper sense and see their true character. I like Rick: he is truthful, honest, genuine, a leader, a patriot, a believer… and we are all proud of his service to his country and his LORD.
I hope you have a great Christmas celebration! That excitment and enthusiasm will be much welcomed as we head into 2009 church life.
Blessings to each of you. Pastor Jeff
